چکیده

This paper reports on the participation of the system squall2sparql in the QALD-3 question answering challenge for DBpedia. squall2sparql is a translator from SQUALL, a controlled natural language for English, to SPARQL 1.1, a standard expressive query and update language for linked open data. It covers nearly all features of SPARQL 1.1, and is directly applicable to any SPARQL endpoint.

Exploring the Translator\'s Solutions to the Translation of Conversational Implicatures from English into Persian: the Case of Tolkien\'s the Lord of the Rings

The present study aimed to examine the translatorchr('39')s solutions to the translation of conversational implicatures from English into Persian. To do so, 120 conversational implicatures were extracted from the novel the Lord of the Rings (Tolkien, 1954) and classified based on Gricechr('39')s (1975) categorization of Maxims, including quality, quantity, relevance, and manner. SQUALL: A Controlled Natural Language as Expressive as SPARQL 1.1

The Semantic Web is now made of billions of triples, which are available as Linked Open Data (LOD) or as RDF stores. The most common approach to access RDF datasets is through SPARQL, an expressive query language. However, SPARQL is difficult to learn for most users because it exhibits low-level notions of relational algebra such as union, filters, or grouping. We present SQUALL, a high-level l...

Schema-Agnostic Query Rewriting in SPARQL 1.1

SPARQL 1.1 supports the use of ontologies to enrich query results with logical entailments, and OWL 2 provides a dedicated fragment OWL QL for this purpose. Typical implementations use the OWL QL schema to rewrite a conjunctive query into an equivalent set of queries, to be answered against the non-schema part of the data. With the adoption of the recent SPARQL 1.1 standard, however, RDF databa...

Theoretical model was the translator trainer profile proposed by The European Master’s in Translation (EMT) Gr...

An Event-Driven Approach for Querying Graph-Structured Data Using Natural Language

An ideal way for people to query graph-based knowledge, including triplestores in the semantic web, would be for them to ask questions in a natural language (NL). However, existing NL query interfaces to graph-based data have limited expressive power and cannot accommodate arbitrarilynested quantification (i.e. phrases such as “a gangster who joined every gang”) together with multiple complex p...
